Is there a fee to become a DigiFest Africa Champion?

No. Applying to join the DigiFest Africa Champions Programme is free.

How will my ticket sales be tracked?

Approved Champions will receive a unique referral link or promotional code. Eligible ticket purchases completed through that link or code will be recorded against the Champion's account.

How much can I earn?

Champions may earn between 10 percent and 20 percent of eligible ticket revenue, depending on their approved category and verified sales volume. Final rates, thresholds and payment timelines will be confirmed in the affiliate agreement or programme terms and conditions.

When will I receive my payment?

Payments will be processed according to the Champions Programme payment schedule after all referred ticket purchases have been verified.

Can an organisation become a Champion?

Yes. Institutions, associations, innovation hubs, youth groups, community networks and other organisations are welcome to apply.

Do I need a large social media following?

No. Champions can promote DigiFest Africa through social media, WhatsApp groups, email lists, professional associations, institutional networks, community events and direct referrals.

Yes. Approved Champions will receive official campaign materials, including posters, videos, captions, key messages and relevant festival updates.

Simon Murimi is a Workforce Development and Digital Transformation Leader with over 15 years of experience leading large-scale skills development, workforce transformation and economic empowerment initiatives across government, the private sector, academia and development partnerships. His work sits at the intersection of workforce development, the digital economy and the future of work, with a focus on translating skills and competencies into workforce capability, economic opportunity and sustainable livelihoods. He has extensive experience developing workforce strategies, competency-based skilling systems, learning and career pathways, youth-in-work models and digital work ecosystems that connect people to meaningful work, entrepreneurship and
productivity. Simon is currently the Program Lead – Skills Development & Jobs Resources at the Ajira Digital Program, leading the development and implementation of the Ajira Digital Program 2.0 Workforce Development Strategy. His work is focused on transforming digital skills development into a integrated, competency-based workforce development system that builds demonstrable, work- ready capabilities and connects learning to pathways for work, entrepreneurship and productivity through the Competency-Based Skilling Model and Youth-in-Work Strategy. His broader work and thought leadership spans the future of work, digital labour markets, platform and gig work, AI and workforce transformation, digital entrepreneurship and inclusive digital economies. Catherine Otieno is a Cybersecurity and GRC leader, trainer, and advocate. She currently serves as a Cybersecurity Analyst at the Central Bank of Kenya. She helps organizations and communities build resilient, well-governed security practices by translating technical risk into clear, actionable guidance for decision-makers. Catherine has spent over 8 years working across information security governance, risk management, and UNDSS-aligned field-safety training, delivering security programs to UN agencies, embassies, and international organizations including IOM, the World Bank, the Australian Embassy, and WFP. She was one of the lead developers of the Zero Contact Food Distribution app, a USSD-based contactless
relief distribution platform built by Tribus-TSG in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works initiative to support communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also contributed to Ajiry, a Mastercard Foundation-
