She is also the co-founder of Minty Academy, where she leads training that helps people and organisations understand and implement AI to work in practical ways. With more than 13 years of experience in brand strategy, marketing and communications, Nyandia works with businesses across Africa and the diaspora to build brands, reach customers and improve how their teams work. Sylvia ‘QueenArrow’ Gathoni is a Kenyan esports athlete, occasional content creator and advocate trainee whose game of specialization is Tekken 8. She began her competitive gaming journey in 2017 at the East African Gaming Convention, where she placed fourth in the Mortal Kombat XL tournament. A year later, she transitioned to Tekken 7, marking the beginning of a career that has established her as one of the most recognizable figures in African esports. Over the years, Sylvia has earned numerous accolades that include being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Africa 2022 list, the Business Daily Top 40 Under 40 Women 2023, Women To Watch 2025 and winning a gold medal at the inaugurals CANOC Esports Series. She has also secured multiple Top 8 and Top 3 finishes in major Tekken competitions, cementing her place among Kenya’s leading Tekken players. In addition, she is the first Kenyan Red Bull Athlete of any discipline. Beyond competition, Sylvia is the founder of The Sage Atlas, a knowledge infrastructure initiative that seeks to map, translate and make legible Africa’s gaming and esports ecosystem. Since 2013 he has worked on productions for Netflix, Showmax, M-Net, NTV, K24 and KTN. His credits include Njoro wa Uba, which he edits and directs, Auntie Boss, Varshita, Baba Twins, County 49, Morning After, Family Vacation and the theatrical release Anam’s Wake. His work on Auntie Boss and Baba Twins earned two Kalasha Award nominations. Nicholas believes African stories are best told by people who know them from the inside. Kevin Tuei is a Senior Cloud & Cybersecurity Consultant and Certified Educator with 8+ years helping organizations migrate to the cloud and strengthen their security posture. He’s trained 1,500+ learners across cloud and cybersecurity, and holds certifications from AWS, Microsoft, Huawei, Cisco, and Atlassian, including AWS Security Specialty and HCIP Security. He serves as Coordinator for Open and Distance Learning at Tharaka University, Technical Mentor at Moringa School, and a Cybersecurity Facilitator at the Open University of Kenya.

Edna Karijo

Ms. Edna Karijo is a Kenyan award-winning technologist who works at the intersection of technology education, digital policy, and the digital economy, driving inclusion and opportunities for young people in Kenya and East Africa. A champion for equity in tech, she has consistently used technology as a tool to unlock potential, especially for employment for youth and young women. Karijo is an Associate Director at eMobilis, a 16-year old award winning Digital and Technology Training Institution and hub in Kenya, where she leads transformative digital economy programmes that prepare young people for the future of work.

Karijo also serves as Vice President of the Internet Society of Kenya (ISOC) and the only female in the current Executive Committee leadership. ISOC Kenya is a Technical community of over 4,000 ICT Professionals that promote the development of the Internet as a global technical infrastructure and a force for good in society. A published author of She Leads-Lessons from Women Leaders, Karijo uses her voice to advocate for leadership, mentorship, and leveraging technology for social impact. Over the past year, her influence has been widely recognized. She was named by CIO Africa in the Top 45 most influential women in Digital Transformation 2025, was awarded by the Women on Boards Network 1 st runner-up STEM award 2025, she was honoured as a Her Network 2023 Woman of the Year, has been celebrated as a Presidential Digital Talent Programme best Mentor, and is an Alumna of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) East Africa.
Karijo is driven by a deep belief that equipping young people especially those from disadvantaged communities with industry driven digital skills and tools, is the key to unlocking meaningful employment. Her mission is to advocate for their inclusion into digital and tech opportunities, bridging the digital divide and ensuring that no youth is left behind in Kenya’s digital transformation.

Simon Murimi is a Workforce Development and Digital Transformation Leader with over 15 years of experience leading large-scale skills development, workforce transformation and economic empowerment initiatives across government, the private sector, academia and development partnerships. His work sits at the intersection of workforce development, the digital economy and the future of work, with a focus on translating skills and competencies into workforce capability, economic opportunity and sustainable livelihoods. He has extensive experience developing workforce strategies, competency-based skilling systems, learning and career pathways, youth-in-work models and digital work ecosystems that connect people to meaningful work, entrepreneurship and
productivity. Simon is currently the Program Lead – Skills Development & Jobs Resources at the Ajira Digital Program, leading the development and implementation of the Ajira Digital Program 2.0 Workforce Development Strategy. His work is focused on transforming digital skills development into a integrated, competency-based workforce development system that builds demonstrable, work- ready capabilities and connects learning to pathways for work, entrepreneurship and productivity through the Competency-Based Skilling Model and Youth-in-Work Strategy. His broader work and thought leadership spans the future of work, digital labour markets, platform and gig work, AI and workforce transformation, digital entrepreneurship and inclusive digital economies. Simon is passionate about building inclusive, equitable and resilient societies by strengthening the
systems that enable people to participate meaningfully in the evolving world of work.

Catherine Otieno is a Cybersecurity and GRC leader, trainer, and advocate. She currently serves as a Cybersecurity Analyst at the Central Bank of Kenya. She helps organizations and communities build resilient, well-governed security practices by translating technical risk into clear, actionable guidance for decision-makers. Catherine has spent over 8 years working across information security governance, risk management, and UNDSS-aligned field-safety training, delivering security programs to UN agencies, embassies, and international organizations including IOM, the World Bank, the Australian Embassy, and WFP. She was one of the lead developers of the Zero Contact Food Distribution app, a USSD-based contactless
relief distribution platform built by Tribus-TSG in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works initiative to support communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also contributed to Ajiry, a Mastercard Foundation-
backed youth employability program bridging young Kenyans into dignified work through training and empowerment. Recognized among Africa’s Top 50 Women in Cybersecurity in 2020 and 2025, Catherine also mentors young women entering the field through the SheHacks community, having guided 50+ mentees in cybersecurity career planning and technical skills development.

and dedication at Gikomba Market, which laid the foundation for his own entrepreneurial spirit. Although when it comes to titles some call me a creative, a photographer, a cinematographer, and an occasional musician, but officially, I’m a Nairobi based creative director and audio visual storyteller. I’m a huge tech enthusiast at heart, constantly exploring new software, emerging tools, and digital innovations to weave seamlessly into my production workflows. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing everything from high energy events to brand campaigns and documentaries across Kenya.
